Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Silva, PSM, our company president and owner, has over 40 years of surveying experience.
Northwest Surveying, Inc. is a uniquely qualified firm fulfilling the role of survey sub-consultant for over 31 years. Approximately 95% of our workload is through governmental and municipal contracts. We have excelled on each and every contract, meeting schedules, goals, budgets and even receiving letters of commendation from several different consultants for meeting schedules, our error-free mapping, open communication and responsiveness. We have a very in-depth, comprehensive quality assurance and quality control program, the latest field data collection systems including Robotic and GPS. We have performed large boundary surveys, surveyed more than 90,000 linear feet of Wetland Jurisdiction Lines, thousands of acres of topographic surveys, established hundreds of miles of right of way lines and set high order control points along with benchmarks. Our professional surveyors have an average of 35 years of experience to call on when challenges arise. For our crowning achievement, the Tampa Bay Business Journal presented us with a plaque for becoming one of the top 50 Businesses in the Tampa Bay area in 2002,
Corporate Philosophy
NSI's staff is proud of our roadway transportation, airport and municipal projects we have successfully completed throughout the state and of the dedication of our team members at all levels within our organization. We commit our total resources to the needs of our client's project regardless of its size. NSI's professionals take time to review the project's requirements as part of our proposal preparation, conduct site visits and then develop workable cost effective solutions through team effort. We take great satisfaction in delivering our product on schedule within the established budget. Repeat business from our clients and new business from their referrals have contributed to our success.
Insurance
We maintain Workman's Compensation & Employer's Liability Insurance in conformance with applicable state law. NSI maintains Comprehensive General Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000, Professional Liability Insurance in the amount of $2,000,000, Our Automobile Liability, Worker's Compensation and additional Umbrella Liability insurance policies are all in the amount of $1,000,000.

We are a member of the Florida Unified Certification Program (FLUCP). The standards and criteria of the certification process of the agencies noted above are uniform and recognize our FDOT DBE certification as proof of our minority status. However, a thorough application and background check is still required and performed each year.
